President’s Message

GREETINGS!! To my CHSNAA alumnae,
Oh, how quickly the days have gone by, 365 of them taking us into another year. Of course, it is a blessing that I am able to continue as your President. I thank God for this and for the committed members that have stayed throughout the long haul in our sisterly relationship.
This year we will celebrate our 85 th year of existence as Black nurse graduates of the Columbia Hospital School of Nursing and 83 years of having a functioning Black Nurse’s Alumnae Association. Can we not say that we are all Blessed?
Throughout the year we have been able to maintain the CHSNAA purpose and objectives. We continue to promote growth and development of nursing students through the Blanche L. White Scholarship that is granted yearly to deserving applicants.
Of course, we maintain a close friendly and sisterly relationship with our alumnae which we do during our Reunions. We are also constantly seeking membership from any of our alumnae who have not joined our Association or in contact with any alumnae.
It is my pleasure to remind alumnae of our 21 st Biennial Reunion that will be held this year. August 16, 2024 to August 18, 2024. As we celebrate this milestone of “85” years we want to have as many of our alumnae present for this occasion as possible. Don’t you be the one who is not present to fellowship with alumnae, family and friends at this special Reunion which we will be having onsite this year in Columbia, SC.
We need everyone to join us!
Assistance is needed from our graduates to seek classmates and other alumnae to inform them to get in touch with anyone in CHSNAA and make their existence known.
We will continue to have future meetings to keep all informed of our Reunion 2024 plans.
We are looking toward a prosperous New Year.
